Q Television Network Makes Announcement 6/15/2004 8:01:00 AM
PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Jun 15, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Q Television Network (Pink Sheets: QBID) CEO, Frank Olsen, announced today that Q executives traveled to New York and Seattle 12 days ago and successfully met their three major objectives, which were:
1) Advertising. Olsen (...burped, drooled, and then...) stated that a primary goal was to hire an advertising executive who had worked with the major houses ("...like Heidi Fleis's and some major bath joints in Tiajuana...") to represent Q Television. Olsen was proud to announce that Q Television has hired Scott Seger, who not only has a solid background with major advertising houses but also on Wall Street and in the television industry specifically. "Scott Seger will be managing our new Madison Avenue office and will be hiring an advertising sales staff to assist him. Scott's experience will enable him to assist us in both the advertising and television areas. Scott's resume can be found on our website at www.qtelevision.com."
The Q Television advertising campaign will begin June 21st
2) Carriage. Olsen said the executives also made great inroads in firming up network carriage and making new appointments for carriage. ("...they got woodies together and made phone calls...") They will be returning to New York at the end of June and have additional meetings scheduled in Connecticut. "Q Television is definitely on the move."
3) Finance. Olsen further stated that "Q executives signed an agreement to secure interim financing which should be sufficient to ensure its initial launch to the public. " Such (...additional dilution, paper hanging, and share shuffling...) financing is primarily for the purpose of obtaining new programming, additional carriage and hiring key personnel. "I am sure this is good for the shareholders and it is wonderful for Q Television as we can show the carriage companies that we are a sound, viable company."
Q executives were also pleased to announce the acquisition of a large movie package to add to their programming library.
( "..From the Mouse the snored..") Olsen also commented on Viacom's (VIA) announcement that they will be coming out with their own gay channel early in 2005: "We (...presumptively and arrogantly...) welcome Viacom to the gay playing field. The Q Television Network will provide news, information and entertainment for and by the gay community, but our objective is to be fun, not controversial. We believe that gay programming should be invited into people's homes by request and that is why we insist upon being scrambled. As you know, the way to be invited is to contact your local cable and satellite companies and ask them to carry Q Television in your area."
