Yes, it most certainly was!

I merely took the definition YOU proposed (that Conservatism means 'wanting to go back to the way things were') and pointed out that such a definition --- lacking any fixed references or precepts --- can be twisted into a pretzel, allowing for example, 'Liberal deficit spending' to be called 'Conservative'.

"I want you to see that what you did was to apply "conservatism" only relative to the status quo, when it should also be applied to the veritably fixed requirements of nature."

Fine, like I already said, you are free to propose your own list of 'conservite requirements'... but if you argue such a wishy-washy concept as 'natural requirements', you must at least attempt to list a few of these supposed requirements, else you have served no useful purpose except to muddy the waters.
