no. the world SHOULD care.
it DOES care and it always has... and that is great.
world opinion and world caring helps a lot.

Yes. Definitely. Agreed.
And yes, I should have phrased that a little better.
We do care, and we have always had opinions,
but we never had a great deal of cause to express them
in the case of our neighbour to the south.

It seems that, when things are...in balance...in a nation,
the people of that and other countries can and should be directing their attention to making a positive contribution to help solve problems when they arise in other lands -- all within an agreed upon structure, I might add.

However, at this point in time, it is difficult, and even dangerous, for "the rest of us" to sit by, ignoring what is happening in the U.S. Clearly, things are out of whack "down there" and the rest of the world knows it. As a nation, we have tried to speak out as a voice within the structure of the U.N. --- unfortunately, that was a dead end. Fortunately, our media is still independent enough, that perhaps that's one voice that has continued to be heard.

But yes, we will all be glad when this is over, eh?
