I agree with you that it's inflammatory. I wasn't proposing shouting it at them with bullhorns. My thought was that we should recognize that that's what we're doing. What logically follows that recognition is questioning if that's what we really want to be doing.

When we started this, IMO, what we were doing wasn't a crusade. I fussed hereabouts about the administration having used the word. They quickly realized that it was neither smart nor politically correct to use it, in addition to its being of questionable accuracy. Since we've had a mission morph, though, I think the word is now correct. If so, what should we do about it? We can pretend that a crusade is not what this is. Or we can recognize it but use other words as we wink. Or we can call a spade a spade. Or we can get off the crusade bandwagon.
