The elusive truth is that the dark cloud that currently shadows the nation, the stink of war and domestic disaster spawned by the Bush administration, has its genesis in the presidency and popularity of Ronald Wilson Reagan. We, as rational thinking Americans, can never understand the nightmare that we're mired in until we understand Reagan.

Now that his "shining city on the hill" has morphed into a dust covered rattrap, I think that Reagan’s legacy is and should always be that he represented the drizzle before our current storm of horseshit. In his popularity and his appeals to the worst side of our humanity, he was the distant roar of the ugly political beast that we are now face-to-face with. It was Reagan who ushered in the terror that is destroying the American dream.
