"I will confess.."
I have been reading lately, quite a bit I might say..
I have finished two books and started a third. The first is "The True History of Machupicchu", by Darwin Paredes, wwhom we were lucky enough to have as our guide down there..
The second titled "Scrub Dog of Alaska" by Walt Morey, author of "Gentle Ben". An adventure story for teens set in Alaska that Mary bought for me at a company book sale, along the lines of "White Fang".. Easy reading, a sweet and sad story that ends sweetly, after a bunch of trials and tribulations, of course.. I liked it.. If you think it would fit your children and they are interested in that type of outdoor adventure stuff, I will send it to you..
And the third I started, one of two, Mary also bought for me by Wilbur Smith, set in Africa in the late 19th century or so, "When the Lion Feeds", I have also found fascinating.. It is no children's book and I am not sure it is great literature, but it probably tells it like it is at that time.. So I will continue..
As the late, great Steinbeck said, "I guess you can never have enough books" or as I might steal, twist and paraphrase,
"I can not read enough books that interest me"
