Ted, you think its perfectly all right to ask the Pope to support Bush's social agenda.

What's wrong with that? Oh yeah, the "separation of church and state." Funny how that applies when the Pope opposes abortion, but when the Pope opposes the war in Iraq, his political opinion is more than welcome.

In any case, Bush's move was indeed politics over the pursuit of religious faith and shouldn't be taken as anything more than that. I guess I should be annoyed at that, except that I remember Kerry once accusing Bush of having a dead faith. Two wrongs don't make a right, but it sure makes great politics.
