One can never have enough cameras. <g>

ps- beautiful fotos. i especially liked the ones of
the locks and the maple in october.

It's a wonderful location. That's one of the many locks in the Rideau Canal system from Kingston to Ottawa. The entire system is very scenic. People come from all over North America to travel up and back in their boats during summer.
It's enjoyable just to sit alongside the locks and watch boats going through. Very low=key and relaxing atmosphere. The mechanisms at almost every lock in the system function just as they have since the mid-1800s -- all man-powered and relying entirely on many wonderful feats of engineering at each location. Most of the lock sites have old buildings, tons of massive stone masonry, and the grounds are wonderfully maintained by Parks Canada. That particular set of locks still has the original blacksmith's forge building where parts for the locks were made for the system. In summer there's a blacksmith working in the forge making things almost every day. It's all pretty neat.
