I guess it's either that the apps business wasn't doing that well (although
my impression is that no one is, and ORCL's P/E is below the industry
average), and/or the continuing misunderstanding about the margin
improvement.

For the Nth CC in a row, where N is at least 5, some bozo asked Ellison
whether outsourcing and other cost-cutting measures were the reason that
margins improved, and how long this cost-cutting could go on. (That is, he
asked the question and it was clear that he was sure that the answer was
yes.) And for the Nth time Larry explained why margins were improving, that
it wasn't cost-cutting, and that they had added engineering jobs in both
the U.S. and overseas, and that they expected to get to 50% margins in a
few years assuming their models held. And I doubt that even the bozo that
asked the question got it.
