trey,

I fully appreciate your position. We all sleep better when we know what's going on. But this is a critical period, and we're talking about important negotiations here. At times such as these, one MUST have faith in management, else one should not be in the stock. I think we all know there is going to be a price move when these issues are resolved. The question is "up or down?" It is a matter of faith or allegiance, and I have faith in Jobs. Simple as that. By the time it becomes "easy" to own AAPL, the share price will be above what I want to pay.
I don't think Jobs is trying to kill cloning. I think this Power situation began as an honest "reevaluation" of terms regarding new technologies. Apple has, up to this point, honored all outstanding committments. But Rhapsody, CHRP and OS 8 have wide reaching and potentially lucrative consequences. I'm glad Apple is playing hard ball.
Power has made their own bed by taking the issue to the streets and apparently Kocher can be thanked for that. MOT and Umax have played it cool from the get go. My guess is that MOT and Umax will get their deal, but on good terms for Apple. Power, on the other hand, may have created a situation for itself that may ultimately benefit Apple. A merger of some kind, at an equitable cost, could create a number of tangible benefits for both Apple and Mr. Kahng.

Continuous Regards,

Scott
