john,frank: thank you for your personal experience. I doubt we will see a single day drop like that again. Correct me if i am wrong... reasons being: 1. program trading and market halts in place. 2. money will keep flowing as people are getting used to 10% corrections. 3. Global econonmy needs to be looked at in a different light. But if we do get a crash, i think it will be slow and a painful one. It may take a week to fully realize we are in one. In sucha a situtaion what does your experience tell you? do you think we would recover in 10 months? longer? since market has had great rise(90% in 3 years). shorter? due to money flowing in? (assuming intrest rate hike) How would you speculate such a day/week with program trading curbs and total market halts in place? thanks again. just curious - don't mean to alarm anyone by my curiousity. Every leap/margin/option player should consider such an event. One of those dips that we buy on may be a cliff.
