After transfer of power, the Iraqi government will receive stronger support from the average person on the street, since it's human instinct to resist foreign occupation, no matter how well-intentioned they might be.

Stock market appears to rally when GW's hand is strengthened and slides if Kerry seems to score points.
It's apparent which candidate investors would prefer.
