I don't deny the preferential treatment, but it is necessary, imo. To sit on the fence and allow the rest of the Arab world to gang up on it, as they repeatedly have done in the past, will not improve matters in the middle east. Israel, for all its flaws, is a more open and free society than any Arab country. Do you think that Israel could stand on its own two feet without the subsidy we provide?
