Edwards has gotten himself into a box. If he doesn't get the VP nod, he will be less viable in 2008 or 2012. He can always spend his class action lawsuit money.

One of his assets is his ability to collect from the trial lawyers. One of the key factors that almost put California under was the domination by the lawyers and the unions.
