So basically you are comparing NYT's god like status years ago v/s superior mortal like status now a days :-). Many media outlets (conservative outlets included) take their cue from NYT and their opinion piece. That is why Jason Blair fiasco and Chalabi feeding Elizabeth Bumiller the false info was such gut wrenching for paper of that caliber to have failed. I just hope they don't repeat that mistake again and am encouraged by the checks and balances that they are trying to institute.
