pompsander: Well, friend, we'll never know! The two will never be matched up as contenders on the same ballot.

But in truth, can you honestly say that you believe the American public, given the long terrorist warfare that we face, would actually place their faith and confidence in the likes of Bill Clinton to lead them and serve as the Commander-in-Chief of the American military might in harm's way throughout the globe--rather than George W. Bush?

Yes, Clinton has the charm of a fawning politician who feels your pain. Yes, he empathizes with your hopes and aspirations. Yes, he knows how to be unctious--better then your best priest or pastor.

But does he know how to marshal the forces of citizen--soldier in defense of the rights of all to liberty and freedom.

When the issue is that of constant vigilance against an implacable enemy, the American people will uphold and support at the ballot box a George Bush and his resolute simplicities rather than a Bill Clinton and his narcissistic egotism. The Osama ben Ladens and the Sadaam Husseins of the world laugh at a Bill Clinton presidency. They do not laugh at a George Bush presidency.

But Clinton vs. Bush may be in the offing. It might be that we will see, in 2008, the following ticket:

For the Democrats: Hillary Clinton

For the Republicans: Jeb Bush

And my money then would be on Jeb. (Of course, with events changing so rapidly every day, I reserve the right to change my mind.)
