Amazing the US forces are able to police all the areas and prevent major fighting. Lucky we are not losing 10 or 20 casualties per day. But it not luck, it is a result of good military planning and operations.

Would be tempted to dam the river and flood Falluja, shoot the rats as they leave. Bad policy tho, the Iraqis themselves would have to do that.

House to house searches produced too many complaints, had to give up on that- which must be left to the Iraqi forces if they chose.

I am not particularily optimistic here, many Iraqis looking for the new government to "do something" about the insurgents, and then it will appear that the government forces do something everywhere except where they happen to live.
The good side appears to be that Iraqis are trying to sign up for the Iraqi police forces, but it going to take a while to recognize they will have to do dirty work themselves.
I hope the new Administration is respected enough overall so that when they have to send in the troops to clean out a town that the entire population does not object or begin the fear the government.
Would not be able to guess how the Iraqi mind would look at such an operation. Perhaps they think a bit like us- its always the other guys fault,we are the good guys, the bad guys are in the next town down the road.
