Leading Indicators Rose 0.5 Pct. in May
Thursday June 17, 10:09 am ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A closely watched gauge of future U.S. economic activity rose for the third straight month in May, showing the economy will remain robust through the spring and summer, a private research firm said on Thursday.
The Conference Board said its index of leading indicators rose 0.5 percent in May to 116.5, after a 0.1 percent gain in April.

The rise was slightly higher than expectations on Wall Street, where analysts had anticipated a 0.4 percent rise.
