Doren, I just unpacked 6 Wintel pentiums and assembled them into a peer to peer network using 3COM 10base T cards, and the entire operation was done in just over 6 hours, with a good part of that software loading from CDs, including drilling and running the wires. Included were two Jaz drives as backups. There were no lroblems at all. All the SCSI cards ran well. Though if your friend was trying RAID on NT4, I can understand his possible problems. Usually the controler makers automate this task fairly well. One problem with Win95/NT is it has been released too early while full of bugs, because Gates wanted $$. Will Rhapsody be the same? A rush to release too early to grab $$, but at my cost. To what degree is Rhapsody fully fledged and mature??, does anyone know?? Are there betas out there?. I too am always fiddling, I have several machines always gutted for this reason or that new boards, cards etc, as I often buy the newest fastest and get bugs galore for my trouble. But when the client asks I like to know, and as long as I get them wholesale and sell them in 3-6 months the loss is minimal.
