Big deal! Bush was the first President since FDR to inherit a true market crash and a resulting recession. Further, the employment numbers are beginning to turn. Currently the BLS, reports that 138,867,000 (138,772,000 seasonally adjusted) Americans are employed. In January 2001, the BLS reported 136,181,000 employed Americans (137,790,000 seasonally adjusted). Meaning more Americans were employed, working now, than in January 2001. In fact, there are more Americans on payrolls, working now, than in January 2001 (131,914,000 May 2004, 130,443,000 January 2001). It is when seasonal adjustments are made to the jobs numbers, that there are few jobs now than there were in January 2001. That may change by November, too.

re:"Bush has still lost more jobs than any prez since Herbert Hoover despite record deficit spending. With that deficit spending Bush could have just hired 20 million people. Instead, more than a million jobs lost and not likely to get into the black by November"
