From your article:

Still, President Bush realized — as John Kerry, the Democrats and the Kean commission clearly do not — that the war on terrorism is not just about seeking revenge against the perpetrators of 9/11.

It's about neutralizing radical Islam's fundamental challenge to Western civilization — fighting to win a war that was imposed on the West by evil men in the service of a depraved ideology.

The path to victory is not clear, but the alternative is one, two, many 9/11's — each more horrific than its predecessor.

Why is that so hard to understand?

So what you are saying is that the war in Iraq is part of a crusade against fundamentalist Islamists? Funny...Iraq was a not a hotbed of Islamic fundamentalism. In fact it was run by a secular ruler. A guy that was totally against the Islamists, and who rebuffed requests by Ossama to cooperate with Al Qaeda.

That couldn't be the reason for the war in Iraq. The reason, as outlined by Powell at the UN and Condi Rice and Cheney on the stump was imminent threat, mushroom clouds, WMDs and alleged connections with Al Qaeda...just for spice.

The Iraq - Al Qaeda connection doesn't wash. The 9-11 commission ended that discussion. And the WMD's and mushroom clouds of imminent threat? They proved to be completely over blown.

The right continues to re-invent reasons for the invasion of Iraq.
