Yes, the Republican-Texas-Energy-Cheney-Enron- Saudi plan was to stick it to California first and foremost, plus the rest of the country too, rob a hundred billion dollars, destroy Grey Davis's chances of running for prez in 2004 (believe it or not he was the one they feared the most which is why they spent so many millions attacking him), use the high energy prices as an excuse to open up public lands and nature reserves to the plunderers, get tax-payers to pay for tens of billions in new power plants and refineries to be build by Halliburton, Bectel and Duke, and basically transfer the center of power in the US from California to Texas. This is the Texas GOP rightwing and energy thieves against the rest of us, and so far they've won and we've all lost.
