Molokai is the most "Hawaiian" island as there aren't any stoplights............it's still very quaint and relatively undeveloped ( if there is such a thing on any Hawaiian island).

It also is the site of the old leper colony. All people infected with leprosy were quarantined from the rest of the population by banishing them to a compound on Molokai. The only access to this colony is by riding a mule down a bunch of switchbacks on the sea cliffs surrounding the colony.......swimmmning in from another island ( not a great option here tho I could do it if the sharks didn't get me ) and flying in with a hot rodder Cessna pilot ( he told me the only problem is landing as the runway is short). I felt I would take my chances with the mule rather than trust a pilot that jokes about short runways! LOL

THe leper colony has historical significance and is supposed to be quite spiritual. I have found many parts of Hawaii to be spiritually enlightening. So much emotion
had to have been physically experienced there so I think there maybe "spiritual markers" there for people who are sensitive to that sort of thing.

In otherwords, the place maybe full of ghosts!! LOL

A nun that was present as a child when the Japs bombed told me the place is full of ghosts.
