bcb, my husband agrees with you; however, I have doubts. Nuclear power requires human perfection--humans are never perfect. No matter how many fail safes are employed, humans manage to overcome them now & then. Just one melt down is enough to render vast stretches of land uninhabitable. Imagine the odds of at least one melt down when nuclear power plants dot the landscape throughout the USA. Is it worth the risk? How would we guard tens of thousands of nuclear power plants from terrorists?
