What Gideon proposed was Utopian.

Won't surprise you I disagree. The question Gideon posed at the time he posed it was about as good as it got. That question frames the turf Pollack's explanations/critique of the Bush administrations' politices work.

The only problem I have with the way it was framed, and this is benefitting from all the virtues/vices of hindsight is that it's a binary question. It could better have been put as something like how much is enough, or if they did certain things, which things, wrong, would it matter?

Sorry for the sort of drive by shooting posting I'm doing these days. Just busy. Enough time to read the thread but not enough to post much.
