The question Gideon posed at the time he posed it was about as good as it got. That question frames the turf Pollack's explanations/critique of the Bush administrations' politices work. The "solutions" that the PHD's come up with are never "real world." They have the luxury of perfect proposals. It is obvious that France and Russia were never going to be "on board" in our liberation of Iraq. Especially when the top people were getting Saddam payoffs.
