Gore didn't win a SINGLE state in the south in the 2000 election, not even his home state of TN. The south is paramount to elections. TN and FL were close. The others were not. The 2nd Amendment is a big problem for Dems in the South. Kerry has consistently received an F grade from the NRA. No President has won an election without winning the majority of the Southern States. Not a single one. Kerry thinks that the right for the members of the unorganized militia (by law thats all 17 to 45 year old males..see 10 USC 311) to practice target shooting in order to ensure the security and efficiency of any organization by the States. We don't need an army full of people that can't hit the broadside of the Queen Mary. That doesn't exactly win infantry battles. Years of practice and skill are required. You can't learn accurate shooting in 6 weeks of boot camp.
