The election is about how we grow the national economy - first and foremost. From a growing economy the revenues come to do all else. Until proven other wise I believe a low tax growing economy yields more social welfare than a high tax - slow growth economy - eg - Europe. We have a growing population - much of the growth on the lower end of the economic scale. Without a growing economy there is no opportunity for those in that state. The slow growth socialist model will not work here.
