I beg to differ: "quite different"?! Well, they're indeed "different" to the extent that the former are Christians while the latter are Jews --that is, the former attend church whereas the latter go to the synagogue. For that matter, does the following sound like a disclaimer: "We love you!" Sharon told the gathering ?
Of course, there (still) are LIBERAL Jews who don't condone the Likud regime and support the setup of a Palestinian state but, as an outsider/observer I have to sort out the "big picture", that is, I must figure out the trends, opinion shifts, and AGGREGATE politics driving the Jewish constituency... and my current opinion is that the "tactical" rapprochement (both in Europe and the US) between the far-right and the Jewish constituency goes beyond a mere passing opportunism... It's not just a few disgruntled Jews who've blown a fuse and joined the far-right out of anti-Arab exasperation --it's an organic shift, not isolated whims. Now, couple that with the Jews' love affair with the media and Hollywood and... it doesn't take a political expert to see the "sounding board" effect here: both US and European opinion have been taken unawares by the media(-military) complex. That is, the purportedly liberal, anti-fascist media have been surreptitiously hijacked by Judeofascist spinmeisters... |
