I've never used imaging software but I'm experiencing some hard drive problems at work and our IT guy imaged about 10 gigs in just a few minutes. That was a backup to another hard drive with Ghost but I'm sure writing to disk would take much longer. It should depend on the amount of data and the level of compression the program uses. It would take 12 disks to image around 8 gigs with no compression. I would guess it would be easier to buy another hard drive for images.

On another subject...I may be MIA for a few days. I'm trying my first computer build and it's not going well. Whoever says it's easy has never seen me with a screwdriver in my hands. I didn't get the right screws for the motherboard, screwed up the IO shield, can't figure out the placement of the processor heatsink and have screwed up the thermal strip. On top of that, the computer I'm on just gave me an imminent hard drive failure message on boot.
