Sure I do...not a whole lot.

Right...

Then there are the weekend warriors in the reserves...How many of them actually thought they would ever do time in a war zone?

I don't know...ask bush...he probably knows the answer well.

Just saying that a whole lot less would sign up if they knew they had to go to war.

Especially trumped up ones. The idea behind the draft in fact. Let these armchair warriors have their children at risk. I bet support for Iraq like wars plummets. I bet the odds we start one are a hell of a lot lower.

After the Viet Nam war was over in 1975 what war did we get into within 4 years?

Soldiers are at risk around the world, in dangerous places like Korea, Guantanamo, Lebanon, Panama, Chad, Liberia, Iraq, Somalia, Kosovo, Iraq again...I won't mention Grenada...nor the cold war, which saw many tense moments. The history of this country is such that if you enlist, you roll the dice with your life. Don't diminish the danger and certainly don't diminish the hardship if you have not been in the military. The compensation is chicken shit in contrast.
