That statement vindicates what many people believed at the time.

Funny that anyone would feel that vindication is necessary for what was intuitively obvious.

I would add misogynist to narcissist. That's what I came away with from the Monica business.

Re the power thing, though, that's typical of people in high places. It's a phenomenon I've been watching all my life, ever since I saw A Star is Born as a kid. I've always found it natural to be kinder as one becomes more powerful. I know I did. It's easier to be kind when you don't have to scrape for everything. But some people go the other way. My earliest recognition of this was when I heard Barbra Stresand was such a shrew. Interesting phenomenon and a particular hobby horse of mine. "I did it because I could" is very common. Clinton's particular bent just made it harder to hide.
