CR, besides what this commentary states, there is another very critical factor at stake in this issue of Iraq war. Especially in the South, there are many who continue to view this war as te war between two religious faiths, Christians and the Muslims.

While the Islamic extremists openly advocate "jihad" and portray their attacks on the US as an act to defend their religion, I did not expect many Americans, especially from the South such as the Carolinas etc. come up with a similar religious refrain in support of Christianity. And strangest of all, there are some who seriously believe that Bush is appointed by God to defend Christianity.

Amazing but true. An opinion I formed after speaking with some from the Carolinas and the Texan panhandle.
