level of US citizen understanding is abysmal and full of bravado

I was lounging beside a swimming pool yday
and overheard a conversation about the Johnson beheading
the guy was a 60-yr old fellow with a huge gut

"we should go into Saudi Arabia and clean out those terrorists
we are pussy footing around and should be getting tough"

inside I just laughed, but kept listening
he went on with more shallow comments
no apparent understanding about any internal Saudi dynamics
as for Iraq, he said something equally shallow

"our soldiers are doing a great job in Iraq
we are afraid of rounding up all the trouble makers"

I am convinced that 90% of Americans are utterly ignorant on Iraq
and 99% are ignorant on Saudi Arabia
clown supporters seem not to be too focused on WMD anymore
now it is democracy in Iraq
of course, the Kurds are not represented
but let's call it democracy anyway

that would be like having a US Congress
and leaving out the entire Hispanic population
