I respect the fair, bipartisan job that the 911 Commission has done and I think their conclusions are valuable to help us prepare for the next onslaught. One thing which I have not heard expressed related to whether we could have shot down the four planes before they hit their target, is the horrific response such an accomplishment would have created. We were thinking hostage negotiation and the public had such a mind set. Shooting down the four planes without knowing the Saudi's plans inside would have been as tragic as what happened with somewhat less casualties but terrible deaths nonetheless and our government would have caused the death of all the passengers. A terrible dilemma that would have led to no good outcome. Myron
