Gazprom to increase income tax payments
Jun 21, 2004 Posted: 09:42 Moscow time (05:42 GMT)

MOSCOW - Gazprom is expected to pay more in income taxes for 2003 compared to 2002, the head of the income taxation department of the Russian Tax Ministry, Karen Oganian, announced. Gazprom needs no investigations of tax payments practices, Oganian stressed. It is worth mentioning that earlier Oganian expressed his concern about scarce income tax payments in the oil industry for 2003.

Income tax payments contributed RUR170.7bn (about $5.88bn) to the revenue of the Russian federal budget and RUR526.9bn (about $18.1bn) to the revenue of the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation in 2003, which is a decrease against 2002. /RosBusinessConsulting/
