It seems to be their desire not to integrate into Western Society is the "established fact," if we can call anything so wishy washy and touchy feely a "fact". They didn't fail- they didn't want to integrate. And while you and I might see integration into Western Society as the epitome of all that is good and right not everyone probably sees it that way. You seem to want to view these people as kids who didn't get invited to the party, and so took up terrorism because they were hurt they didn't get their invitations. That seems to me a dangerously naive way to look at a much more complicated situation.
