You may already know that Dennis Potter of the Singing Detective wrote the original British TV miniseries that Steve Martin Adapted. Here are a couple of sources for the original which I now must get. If you have seen any of Singing Detective, (I have only seen two episodes so far) you can feel Potter's presence in Pennies from Heaven. Myron museum.tv amazon.com
