Ralf Discharged from Hospital

Monday June 21st, 2004

Williams driver Ralf Schumacher has been discharged today from hospital and is heading to his home in Austria, his team said.

The German crashed during the US Grand Prix and spent the night in a local hostpital for precautionary observation.

"After examination by medical staff this morning, Ralf has been discharged and is flying home to Salzburg today," the team said, adding that "Ralf is well, but has a bruised back and strained back muscles."

Williams said Schumacher will not be taking part in the team's scheduled testing this week in Jerez. It also remains doubtful whether he will take part in the French Grand Prix, on July 4th.
