We are not talking about "total fertility".

Sure, if you criminalize abortion, there will be more children around.

When you talk about more children being around in the absence of abortion, you are talking about an effect on the total fertility rate.

has nothing to do with comparative fertility of women with a propensity to vote democrat to those that lean towards voting republican.

I've already posted several studies showing the incidence of abortion is not uniform across the entire population but occurs more frequently among some groups than others. As it happens some of the groups with high abortion rates are also groups which tend to vote primarily Democratic. Thus over a period of decades, abortion logically will have an impact on the number of likely Democratic voters.
