Dear Steve,

Since March, George Bush has aired $83 million worth of television ads attacking John Kerry's character and credibility. So why does today's ABC News/Washington Post poll show John Kerry eight points ahead of George Bush?

Because while George Bush ran his smear campaign, we were able to run powerful ads of our own -- a positive campaign about making America stronger.

The only reason we had the resources to run those ads is that our supporters, many of whom had never given to a candidate before, stepped forward with a flood of $25 and $50 contributions.

Now we're asking you to help us fund another vital ad campaign. Once again, we're showing our supporters our ad before anyone else. All we ask is that you either make a donation -- even a small one -- or forward this email to a friend who may be ready to help.

The ad, "Paperwork," highlights John Kerry's plan to decrease the cost of healthcare by reducing administrative overhead -- on which our nation currently spends approximately $350 billion a year. His plan will cut health insurance premiums for America's families by about 10% and will cover 27 million Americans who are currently uninsured.

This ad would never have seen the light of day without the support of our online activists. And that's why we're showing it to you first.

Thank you,

Mary Beth Cahill
Campaign Manager, Kerry for President
