Hi Lizzie, first off, I like you being on this thread, because you tend to generate a lot of conversation. ;)

Having said that, there were lots of people that worked in manufacturing jobs that used to say that the company shouldn't buy robots to do alot of the same work. Those people used to say that it would hurt our economy and the stock market because of all the jobs lost. Well, the reality is that it lowered the overall cost structure of the U.S. manufacturing base, which allowed them to make MORE strategic investments and create higher paying jobs. Of those who worked on the shop floor, some went and got a higher education and found themselves employed at a higher salary. Others never recovered. That is the story of America and the band plays on. Not everyone will understand this capitalistic, canabalistic economy. Many people always doubt that the canibalism is good, but they have been proven wrong every time before. The same thing is now happening to IT and it will be good for U.S. companies and this economy in the long run, as has been every other structural advance in the past. Them's the facts, ma'am!
