The more we kill, indiscriminately, the more the ranks of the terrorists fill. As with the Khmer Rouge, brutality merely breeds a more brutal adversary. The previous fighting in Fallujah, where upwards of 1,000 or more civilians were killed, merely helped fuel the anti-American Iraqi feeling. To let the Marines loose to storm the city at this point would merely take us further down that route.
