WHO WE ARE
changein04.com
W e are proud members of the Green Party, guided by its ten key values, including social justice, protection of the environment, civil rights, women's rights and sustainability. The Green party's commitment to its principles and achieving these through grassroots democracy exemplifies an intellectual and moral commitment to altering our political structure through truly democratic means.

We take the threat the Bush administration poses to our values very seriously. With the assistance of a Republican controlled Congress and an easily manipulated press, the ultra- conservative agenda of the White House has been frighteningly successful. These policies have wreaked havoc on our nation, but the damage does not have to be permanent. We have the opportunity to stop their extreme, right wing, religiously influenced agenda! But, this cannot be done by separate, disjointed efforts - it will take unity across party lines and the concession of some policy differences.

As Green party members, we are endorsing and actively supporting John Kerry for President. Despite some very important differences between Green party positions with those of Senator Kerry, he has been a consistent and effective advocate on a fair number of progressive causes including environmental protection, healthcare reform, civil rights, womens' rights, gun control, campaign finance reform, and government corruption.

By supporting Kerry, Greens can help defeat Bush and send a message that together we can prevail over the anti-democratic, anti-environment, and anti-civil rights policies of the Bush-Cheney administration. Our support for Kerry and vigorous opposition to Bush, could be the difference in this election, and we will have helped put an end to their efforts to dismantle every important achievement that grassroots and popular struggles have achieved. We will also significantly increase the likelihood that many aspects of our progressive agenda will be furthered by a far more receptive administration than the current one in power.

The ramifications of a Bush second term could be catastrophic; the stakes are simply too high. To protect our nation and preserve a healthy future - economically, socially, environmentally and morally, we must defeat George W. Bush. We urge all Greens and Nader voters in swing states to vote strategically and join with people of all political stripes, united in our concern for America's future, and support John Kerry for President.

Important Notice: In response to the false accusations regarding our website on indymedia let's set the record straight. Sarah Newman, the founder of Greens for Kerry, is a registered Green Party member in San Francisco, a two time Nader voter (1996 and 2000), and a proud volunteer of Nader's 2000 campaign for President. For her registration information contact the San Francisco Department of Elections at 415-445-4375 or www.sfgov.org. We regret any misunderstandings that were created by a few misinformed individuals. Thank you.
