Well they certainly as liberal as today's liberals. One huge defining difference is the size and power of central Govt. As I pointed out, if the founding fathers were liberals, then today's leftists and liberals are 10 times more liberal because today, they call for a HUGE and powerful central Government, something the founding fathers were too conservative to ever approve of.
