"And he may be a great soul. But I would like to see him give away a lot of money. Getting rich off Jesus leaves one appearing to be a hypocrite."

Personally I don't think what Gibson does with his money is any of my concern (nor what Moore does with his money).

Regarding hypocrisy:

(1) Mel makes a secular movie with tons of violence, and makes millions of dollars off it. No hypocrisy there.

(2) Mel makes movie based on the gospels, makes millions of dollars. Charged with hypocrisy.

I don't understand the two different results. Gibson is in the business of making movies. He has a lot of choices regarding what movies to make.

The fact that he chooses to make the movie that he, and millions of other people, consider to be meaningful, rather than to make another meaningless cop film, I view as a positive. I don't see where hypocrisy comes into play there.
