I've generally been in favor of the death penalty, even got to see Old Sparky from up close back before he got retired (the Florida death chamber is scary the spectators are about 10 feet from the condemned).

There's a website that has the final statement of Texas inmates who were executed. A lot of them really changed their lives around after being sentenced. I don't think it was play acting because even when they knew there was no chance of a reprieve they still were positive and thankful to have been redeemed, and repented what they had done.

My initial reaction was these people don't deserve peace, they don't deserve redemption, but that's really not my call to make, is it?
