Actually, I'd like to see it run up before the news. That way I can sell it before the news and won't have to worry if it's good or bad. I've made a buck and if the news is good, probably won't miss to many points, but if it's bad I've saved my hide. The way my luck runs, I'll get caught up in a meeting or just plain forgot. I did that with a stock last month. Bought it before an announcement. It was anti-climatic and then forgot I had the stock until I checked my portfiolio and noticed a chunk missing. Then when I listed all my stocks, there was that one I forgot about. Took a loss on it too (sobbing)
