detainees held in Afghanistan by US troops have been routinely tortured and humiliated as part of the interrogation process in the same way as those in Iraq, a Guardian investigation has found.
Five detainees have died in custody, three of them in suspicious circumstances, and survivors have told stories of beatings, strippings, hoodings and sleep deprivation.

The nature of the alleged abuse indicates that what happened at Abu Ghraib was part of a pattern of interrogation that has been common practice since the invasion of Afghanistan.

In case anyone forgets it was this comment that started the whole exchange.

Five freakin guys have died while in our custody, two of natural causes and the US is the same as Saddam who killed tens and hundreds of thousands of his own citizens? Fathers made to watch while their wives and children were raped in front of them and then killed by Saddam's torture specialists and the US is the same as he was? Miles of burial grounds full of dissidents who disapeared in the night and the US is the same as Saddam? And whats worse is you guys rush to defend Mish after a statement like that?
Maybe you need to get out the house more. Turn off the television and the computer and go outside.

As long as you all continue to post bs like that I'm going to continue to bitch. Why don't you just save that crap for the GWB thread or the carrey for pres thread and leave it be?
