I agree to an extent. The whole thing would stink less if Cheney weren't the VP. I need to go back and figure out how he was chosen anyway. And then what do you know we go to war in Iraq and haliburton makes a killing.

I'm fully aware that there are some issues but when people post things like "america is no better than saddam" and sh*t like that I gotta say something.

I don't understand why Saddam didn't comply with us in the first place. A sane, not guilty, person would have invited US inspectors or something. So either he had something to hide and we just haven't found it or he didn't have WMD and maybe thought he would be invaded and stay in power? The only sane alternative would have been to try to negotiate which he didn't really try until it was too late.
By that logic he was nuts, guilty or not. I think that he was covering up and needed time to hide what he had which he apparently succeded in doing.

I'm not pro-war in any country Iraq included. But strategically, to try to improve overall political conditions in the middle east, trying to set up a democracy in Iraq is not that bad of an idea. Not to metion that it gives extremists a chance to sneak over the border and die fighting our soldiers rather than launch terror ops over here. It's hard to calculate how many future attacks have been avoided due the death of the would be perpetrators dying in combat either in Iraq or Afghanistan. No one has given Bush credit for this but it's very brilliant. Perhaps you have to be a chess player to appreciate it.

None of the liberals want to believe that setting up democracy in Iraq can work and maybe it will fail but if it succeeds history will record it as a masterstroke in solving the mid east problem. The mid-east is a problem and
it has been long before Bush 2 and even Bush 1. 9-11 was planned long before Bush was elected.
